Tyren who turned out to be a real water baby..but he has to have his floaties on..

Donnacha who didnt really want to go right into the water..so he was happy just wading by the edge..

I was a big chicken..that was as far as I could go..it was too cold to get right under..but they all kept saying "Once your in Jackie its beautiful and warm":)

Tyren loved to get into the water but loved getting out..even though he was shaking like a leaf lol

As you can see the kids loved every minute of their time down the river...we were lucky to get some sunny days for a few days so we went down the river almost every day.. Oh to be young again..

Well I'm going to do it finally..I'm going to do up a my food blog and I will have pictures and recipes so that people can follow and hopefully make it also..

I'm so looking forward to doing up my recipe book too..its taking me along time to put it all together but I hope it goes well..

Well you all would of seen this on FB page..I just had to put it on my blog because Charna(my grand daughter) help me bake this cake..

Gosh it was so yummy and I made a really nice chocolate ganashe for the icing..Charna calls this our "Rainbow Cake"..she kinda got carried away with the food colour but, it turned out quite pretty ( I must say)..

Anyway, it didnt last a day because we had visitors galore so it came in handy.. Hmmmmm I wonder what next will we be baking when she comes down again???

I loved it and we had alot of fun making it..

I really love this view from our Lounge room window..I can sit and watch this view all day long because it changes all the the time..
I always think of the movie "Gorilla in the Mist"..Just waiting for gorilla's to come out from the mist..

This photo was taken on the other side of my lounge room looking out onto the road..It was about 7am and the sun was peaking out behind the fog and it was just amazing..it was so calm and peaceful..

Just yesterday Charna and I decided to get in and do some exercise and we raked all the leaves up and lo and behold when I looked outside this morning it looked like we never did anything..we had a bit of a breeze this morning and blew alot of the leaves off its branches..I thought "What the heck" and this time I am leaving it on the ground and hopefully another big wind will come along and blow it all away..

The scernery was just as beautiful as ever..I love it..

Last yr this was covered in snow and I think we went up to the montains a little early because there was no snow in sight..Charna was hoping to have a snow fight but it didnt happen..

I think the place still looked wonderful even thought it was grey, cold and windy..we do have a beautiful place down here in Tassie and I just love it every day..

Morning Bliss..

Well the other morning I opened up blind and this is what I saw..it was just so beautiful..I just loved the colours and how peaceful the cows looked and the serenity was just magical..

Then about 1 hr into the morning I looked outside (once again) and I saw fog coming into our property..I thought..Hello! here comes winter for sure..

But...for some unknown reason I really love the different kinds of weather we experience here in Tasmania and we do live in a beautiful part of the world..(Australia) and I am thankful for the beauty that we have and for our free - agency..

Relief Society Mystery night..

I think I made a mistake and started to put the end photos last so if anyone is reading this..scroll down to the last photo and work your way up..

By the end of the night the mystery was revealed and it was all about Visting Teaching and how we can improve doing it..I thought it was nicely done and thanks to the R/S presidency for a great night..
As you can tell these 3 ladies were trying their hardest to tell another lady what number they were without speaking..alot of hand signs and feeling..lol
As you can tell Simone was number 1
I didnt even know Vicki was in our team..(which she wasnt)
Maureen Handley..she must not of have a big head because she wrapped it around her head twice..lol
This game we played..we all had to be blind folded and had to be in a group of 3's with 9 ladies in the group..and someone came along and whispered a number in our ear and we had to sort out from 1 to 9..was so funny and fun..
Liz had trouble trying to tie her blindfold..

We had a good amount of ladies turn up..(maybe because they got picked up lol)
The room was set up so nicely and elegant

There was allocated drivers and we had to go and pick up 5 sisters each and the driver had to wear pink as you can tell who the driver was in this photo..lol

Ashlee Porters car was decorated in pink and people would of thought she had the bride in the car..
The gates were all decorated with streamers and balloons..
Bishop Porter greeted us and welcomed us ladies to the Mystery night..

Finally aother quilt finished..

Well another project done and I had alot of fun making this quilt..it took me just over a month because I was doing it when I had some spare time..I want to make more. (hint! Christmas presents because I dont want to rush at the last minute)

I used all Amy Butlers material and I got this from a already cut pieces but I adjusted it abit and did my own pattern..

I usually sew the edgings on the machine but this time I decided to do it the proper way and hand stitch it..I would take it to my bedroom in the evening and stitch while watching my recorded TV programs..

It gives me great satisfaction to finish a quilt and most of all I am giving it away as a gift..I know what you all are thinking as Mark would say too..I never keep what I make but I just love to give.

On sat I took the kids to Devonport..firstly we went to the mall and checked out some shops there..then it was time to go to Macca's and grabbed some lunch..

The day was just perfect for sailboats and we watched them sail by..

Charna loved giving the scraps to the seagulls..
One of the look outs we visited and we watched people fish off the rocks..
This was at the lighthouse at the Bluff..

The kids enjoyed playing in the rock pools and trying to find anything that was interesting..

I just love having our new dog around the house..He is so clever and the kids just love him to death..He's the smartest dog I have ever owned..I think he is going to be a BIG dog..

Just some pic's of our Christmas morning..we had the Corona's down for the week (or 2) and my lounge room was full of wrappers and presents...

Bayden loves his little bike..every now and then he hops on it and takes it for a spin around the room..lol
Now this is what Christmas is all about..mess everywhere..for awhile anyway and then we clean up and have our breakfast..

My trip to Gove N.T.

About 1 month ago I took a surprise visit to see my family in Gove..actually I surprised my sister in law for her 5oth birthday and that was the first time I've visited Gove and its such a lovely place..

Just about everybody there owned 4 wheel drives and a fishing boat..I wonder why?????

This is a wild passionfruit and was really yummy and sweet..
My brother Matthew's boat and they went fishing alot while I was up there..
My younger brother Colin who caught this fish..Big red emperor..was nice to eat too..
In the harbour..and the mines in the back ground..
The water was so clear as you can tell by the picture..I just had to take this picture..
We had lunch at a little island call east bremmer and I could of stayed there and swam all day long..found out from another that there was a 3ft shark swimming around there..
my brother know of a spot to get these oysters and they were soooo huge 3 could fill you up..we got 3 buckets of these big mumma jumma's..
Excuse the hairdo..but I managed to squeeze in a game of golf..

Thanksgiving at The Corona's

Well Mark and I went up to The Corona's to celebrate thanksgiving and what a feast we had..the turkey was to die for but the desserts were just out of this world..Melanie made 17 different desserts and I managed to only taste 3 of them..

Honestly they were just sooooo yummy..they were better than the desserts you get in a restuarnt..

Even though it was raining it was nice to sit and relax and watch the kids play..then after all the sugar rush Melanie had a treasure hunt for all the kids..

Even though its an American holiday I am really thankful for all the things we have in life and I'm thankful for families and friends and just being here on this earth..

TULIP FARM

Yesterday (Sat 9th Oct) Mark and I got up early and left the house at 7.30am to go up to Wynyard to have breakfast with the Corona's and 3 other lovely families joined us..Then about 10am we walked down to the Tulip festival by the river side and it was just so fun..

Melanie, Dean and myself hang out for these beautiful chilli squid and we got a taste of it..we then went for a walk into town and did a little shopping then walked on home..(it only takes about 5mins to Corona's house)..

After we rested we then decided to go for a little trip to the tulip farm..the guy at the gate was so nice he let us go into the farm for 16 dollars and there was a truck load of us..lol

I just wanted to spread myself out and sleep in between the tulips..it was just absolutely wonderful..

It was like someone came along and sprayed it with pretty colours..I just wanted to keep on taking photos..the kids loved it but maybe not Baydan, he didnt like the idea of his mother just propping him down and take off so I could take a photo..lol

Its a pity that these flowers only come out at a certain time of the yr but, its something to look forward to each yr I suppose..

I think my favourite flowers are now tulips..I may not have real ones in my house but, my fake ones look awefully real..

Well I've put the pictures back to front..so everybody can see the finished results first..hehehe

I decided to sew the pockets on the side on both side just to be a little bit different..It was so fun making this bag as I can sew it without the pattern now..

This was done after I sewed the straps on..

Nice straight line..I'm abit of a stickler when it comes to sewing in a straight line and ironing the fabric (don't I Simone and Annette?)

It took me a long time to get use to a roller blade but now I LOVE using one and I use for almost everything I want to cut..

Baby shawl

Well I've finally finished my project I've been doing for about 1 and a half month..I enjoyed making this baby's shawl..I use to do abit of it every night when I am in bed..I kinda miss it because I looked forward to it every night..I'm thinking of doing a nice soft yellow one and enter it in the Deloraine show for this year.. This shawl is going to go all the way to Ireland..my youngest daughter is having her 1st baby and I thought this would be a nice gift to give to her..a nice keepsake..

I was babysitting Tyren while Melanie was having a sleep and Dean was outside helping Mark with some piping..and before I could turn my head..(and I learnt a good lesson...)PUSH CHAIRS IN WHEN LITTLE MITES AROUND....tyren was sooooo quick he climbed up onto the chair and was playing around with our laptop..then he looked at me a smiled and said something in his own language and laughed..couldn't smack him because he looked so cute and innocent..

We all decided to go down to see how the calf is doing and it sure did drink the milk pretty fast..Mark said it just drinks and drinks..I think it will be going out into the paddocks pretty soon..

Mel and Dean got the kids to go outside for a treasure hunt and that was alot of fun..they found chocolates and even money..

Even William was in it too..
Dessert was the best..we had Banana caramel cream pie,pumpkin pie,strawberry pie,chocolate pie,pecan pie and lastly apple pie..I know Simone and Simon and Dean had the whole 6.

Its always nice to set a table and I always get carried away, but I love doing this sort of stuff..anyway it wa for a good occasion..I tried to get a dark blue napkin, so I settled for the light blue.
I had to set the kids table almost the same, so they don't feel left out.. I gave them plastic(tupperware) cups.
This is Melanie and Dean Corona..Melanie just loves to cook for Dean and he is now half the size he use to be :)
Yummy turkey!!!! the best one yet!!! I agree with you Simone, that turkey was the best, and that was a good exercise for our turkey for Christmas day..I always thought Mark was a great Barbie cooker but he sure cooked the turkey great that day.
Here it is up close..I can still smell it.

Check out the T-Shirt Jackson was given by Jordan Christie!!!! I reckon its so cool and Jackson loves it..

I don't think he will wear it outside the house, because its real SHAME JOB. But that suits him too a T and the person who use to wear it loved wearing the T-shirt also..
